Making Your Trip to the Beach a Breeze

Everyone loves a trip to the beach, and here at Visit Panama City Beach, we want to make your beach day as easy-breezy as possible. Whether you’re visiting for a week or just spending the day, these tips will help you enjoy a fun and relaxing beach experience.

Pack your bag!

Before anything else, you will need a beach bag. Luckily, beach bags are easy to find throughout PCB, and you can even grab one at the Panama City Beach Visitor Center.

The most important item in your beach bag is sunscreen. We recommend applying sunscreen before you leave the house, and if you have children, choose a brand made for sensitive skin to help prevent irritation. Next, pack a towel. Oversized towels are perfect for lounging, but any size works for drying off. Sand resistant towels are especially helpful.

Another often forgotten essential is lip balm with SPF. Your lips can burn just like your skin, so do not forget to protect them. Other helpful items include a hat, sunglasses, hair clips, a brush, and even leave in conditioner to keep your hair smooth after swimming in salty water.

Cooler

If you are spending the day at the beach, chances are you will be enjoying the sun for several hours. Bringing a cooler is a must. Stop by a local grocery store and stock up on your favorite beach snacks.

A Florida favorite is the Pub Sub and chips combo. For those unfamiliar, a Pub Sub, short for Publix Sub, is a popular sandwich made fresh at the Publix deli. With your choice of bread, meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments, it is easy to build the perfect beach meal.

Do not forget to grab plenty of water before heading to the beach. Staying hydrated is essential when enjoying the sun and saltwater in Panama City Beach, so be sure to stock up to stay refreshed all day long.

Shade

The sunshine in Panama City Beach is beautiful, but everyone needs a break from the sun now and then. If you plan to stay longer than a couple of hours, bring an umbrella, beach tent, or sun shade to create a cool and comfortable spot to relax.

Games and Entertainment

Some people love to relax and listen to the waves roll in, while others prefer a little activity. Whether it is listening to music, reading a book, tossing a football, or playing beach volleyball, there are plenty of ways to make your own fun on the sand.
