Volusia County Beaches

Volusia County has four dog-friendly beaches for beachgoers and their dogs to enjoy — the Ormond Beach Dog Beach, the Daytona Beach Dog Beach, Lighthouse Point Park and Smyrna Dunes Park.

The following rules must be followed by those who decide to take their dogs to the authorized section:

• Pet owners must promptly clean up after their dogs, ensuring all feces are properly disposed of.
• Dogs must not disturb or harm the dune areas or wildlife inhabiting the beach.
• All dogs entering the beach area must have a current rabies vaccination.
• Visitors are required to adhere to the guidelines posted by the county regarding dogs on the beach.

Halifax Humane Society Dog Park

This dog park features both on- and off-leash areas for large and small dogs. In the mood to get some training in (or at least burn off some energy)? Put the park’s agility courses to good use! Plus, there are fenced and shaded areas, walking trails, and water stations for both pet owners and animals alike.

New Smyrna Beach Dog Park

This one-acre dog park features a fenced area that’s divided into sections for large dogs and small dogs. Take a break from the sunshine in the 30×40 shade shelter that includes a dog and people water fountain. The grounds are grassed and include open areas with concrete structures for doggy play!

Riviera Oaks Dog Park

If you’re in the Holly Hill area, take your pups to play at Riviera Oaks Dog Park. Open from sunrise to sunset, this park offers plenty of room for dogs to run and play, plus separate sections for dogs large and small. Plus, there’s fresh water on tap if the dogs work up a thirst.

Barkley Square Dog Park

Encompassing more than 14 acres, this dog park has plenty of room for dogs of all sizes to run and play. There are separate areas for large and small dogs, time-out spaces, and even a pond. Parking is never a problem here, and there are restrooms for the humans.

Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park

This sprawling, 40-acre park in Ormond Beach offers lots to explore. While the entire park stretches from the Halifax River to the Atlantic Ocean, the off-leash dog park is four acres all on its own. When your four-legged friend is done running around, the rest of the family can head over to the soccer field, basketball court, playground, tennis courts or nature trails. There’s plenty for everyone to love here!

Van Alder Dog Park

This dog-friendly recreation area in Daytona Beach Shores is located on the west side of Lucy M. McElroy Park, a three-acre site complete with pickleball courts and a playground, in Daytona Beach Shores. With specially designated areas for small and medium/large dogs, this park is shady and includes a water fountain for you and your four-legged friend.

Holiday Inn Daytona Beach LPGA Boulevard
